Olho Seco is a Brazilian Hardcore band from the 80s. Formed in 1980 when Fábio (vocals), Val (bass), Redson (guitar) and Sartana (drums) get together to play. At first they participate in the festival “Beginning of the End of the World” and in the collection “Grito Suburbano”, both landmarks of the punk movement in Brazil. The raw and direct sound, typical of the Punks bands, gained weight and speed in the performances of Olho Seco, which contributed and a lot for the band to gain respect and start to influence new punk generations. Then they launched the split “Boots, rifles and helmets” with the bands Fogo Cruzado and Brigada do Ódio. This split was very well received and gave the band an invitation to participate in several international collections such as “Welcome to 1984”, promoted by the punk fanzine “Maximum Rock´n´Roll. After that, Olho Seco released their own albums: “Olho por Olho”, “Primeiros Dias”, “Fome Nuclear” and “Isso é Olho Seco”. Many tributes were carried out in hommage to the band, the main one being the album “Tributo a Olho Seco”, with the participation of the most expressive punk / hardcore bands in Brazil, in addition to “Força Macabra” (from Finland) and Cripple Bastards (from Italy) ). Even today the band Olho Seco remains faithful to the style that enshrined them: Hardcore fast and aggressive.
